3D Vector Source for Rapid Documentation

3D Solid Modeling

The use of computers to create 3D models is a critical part of the modern design process. These models are used to generate a database of information that can be shared with all of the members of the design team and used to develop and analyze the product. In fact, a graphic created by 3D modeling itself could be considered both a process and a product. As a process, 3D modeling produces final design solutions, as well as inputs to the production process, in the form of computer databases. As a product, a 3D model is a result of the engineering design process.

Rapid 3D and 2D Vector Illustration Management

Once IP-Docs is installed into AutoCAD, perform the following one-touch actions:

1. Create, or import an existing 3D solid model.

2. Using the same model, launch IP-Docs and select from one of the following technical graphics styles:

  • Engineering drawings
  • Design patent illustrations
  • Utility patent illustrations
  • Technical & Presentation graphics
  • Trademark graphics
  • Copyrights

4. Select documentation specifications and convert orientations from 3D to 2D removing hidden lines. Refer to chart 1. Auto-interactive vector illustration management.

5. Select from a variety of tools to apply template, light source, surface definitions and numbering to each 2D projection, then select from the following output formats:

6. One-touch formatting applied to vector drawing projections to conform to patent, technical or presentation graphics specifications.

7. Export raster images and insert into authoring software for all-electronic or print-publishing applications. Refer to chart 2. Interactive raster illustration management.
